SwimRun in the Nutshell

Since 2019 we ran the first SwimRun clinic by Olivier Baillet from Beyond The Line, we incorporate SwimRun as part of our training on Sunday. That involve running with swim paddles, swimming with running shoes, with all your gears in one-go, swim then run, run then swim, on and on without transition.

So what do we need to prepare for the next training that we call for “SwimRun”?

In the nutshell:

  • SwimRun is not an Aquathon (there is no transition)

  • You swim with shoes on

  • You run with goggles, cap, and buoy

  • Multiple changes of swim and run, body position from horizontal to vertical or vice versa

  • Can be creative on your gear, there is only a few rules…

  • Can be a team of 2 sports

That’s all you need

The running shoes with less water absorption;
The modified pull buoy or the calf buoy that keep your lower body float;
The swim paddles;
And your hydration and fuel belt
