No you are not absolutely right. Sports training increase the load to our body, no matter it is an hour high intensity swim, or three hours low intensity bike ride.

Listen to your body and pay attention to any symptom may arise is key important at this period of time. We always remind our members to better protects ourselves during the peak phase of training, we need to execute the same level the precaution at the time of flu season.

General public reminders:

  • Wearing masks

  • Always sanitise your hands

  • Keep washing hands

  • Always #dermodacyn

  • Avoid going into the crowds

Triathletes in training reminders:

  • Have sufficient sleep and rest between the training sessions, even 30mins nap is a great recovery.

  • Top up your multivitamin intake e.g. A, C, B complex, D, Zinc and Magnesium

  • Maintain hydration, always have a bottle of water around you

  • Keep yourself warm during warm up and recovery, in and out of the water

  • Stay happy!

  • Pay attention to any symptoms arises, identify muscle pain (DOMS) or joint pain especially after the large heavy volume session.

If you are not feeling well….

  • REST! and GET MORE REST!!!

  • In some case you are recovering from the cold or flu but still having some common cold symptoms, please stop training until all symptoms disappeared.

  • You’d rather rest for a few days than caught a nasty bug and spending additional few weeks for recovery….

After all, or if you are in doubt, consult your doctor, or coaches in Sonic or have a read from this article that I always refer to.

I wish everyone have a healthy and prosperous year of the rat!
