Kenneth Yip Chun Kit (Head Coach)

Kenneth Yip is the co-founder and head coach of Team Sonic. He has an
extensive background in coaching swimmers and triathletes of all age and
abilities. In addition to coaching Masters, he has coached collegiate teams,
and worked with individual age grouper.
Kenneth raced as a professional
triathlete and had been invited to join Hong Kong Triathlon National Squad
and received scholarship offered by The Hong Kong Sports Institute from 1998 - 2003.
During the time in National Squad, Kenneth had been representing Hong Kong
racing overseas and had been participant in oversea training camp in New
Zealand, Malaysia, France, German, Australia, Spain and Japan.
He continues to compete in triathlons and
running events. In triathlons, he races from sprint to half-ironman
distance. He consistently wins his age group and often finishes as one of
the top overall amateurs.
In recent year, Kenneth back to
campus for the tertiary study in Sports Management.
Kenneth Yip's strengths and
specialties as a coach include:
- Educating coaches and athletes
on the latest technique and training methods
- Motivating athletes of all
abilities to perform to their potential.
- Teaching inexperienced athletes
comfort in the water and efficiency.
- Teaching pacing, strategy and
racing tactics.
- Teaching triathlon race
preparation.
